The Six Municipal Area Council Area Councils in Abuja FCT a federal version of Local Governments will be having their elections tomorrow.
The Abuja Municipal Area Council Area Councils (AMAC) oversees the Abuja city itself. AMAC has some serious cash to play with they get allocation from FAAC as well, for instance they N514m in January 2014, that’s a lot of money for doing nothing.
For the life of me, in the estate where I live, it’s a religious body that patched the roads. Of course I provide my own water.
We are told there will be restriction of movements from 7am to 4pm, for what exactly? So people can vote? I have not seen anyone in Abuja that is voting tomorrow, I have asked my work chaps and neighbors. Most will sleep in and watch EPL and Zee
There is so much disconnect with the candidates and elections.
Even in terms of campaigns, I have seen nothing…. but come Sunday Morning, a winner will be announced who will have control over the FAAC allocations and proceed to do nothing again.

The citizens of Abuja are generally disinterested in these elections, and we will suffer the consequences of our indifference
I hope I will be proven wrong.
